The Vocational College for Hotel Management Pegnitz started in 1997 to offer the first job training concept for students certified to study at universities or universities of applied sciences in the hotel and catering trade in Bavaria. The training at the Vocational College for Hotel Management Pegnitz is tuition free.

The vocational graduation State certified Specialist for Euro-Hotel Management implicates the familiarity with demanded knowledge in business management and in the organization for management duties, as well as practical know-how and the skills in the well-trained foreign languages.

The vocational training includes a one year lasting practical internship which you are enabled to do in the best national and international hotels.

Your individual education structure, as well as the choice of the final examination subjects provide you a targeted, branchlike specialization, a scheduled preparation for your vocational practice and the basics for a further university career. You select from a widespread choice of compulsory and elective subjects:

Every year you choose at least 10 lessons from the available elctive subjects. In the third year you are able to decide which subjects you will take for the final examination:

The legal basis of the vocational training is the suggested change of the lessons schedule for the Vocational College for Hotel Management Pegnitz of the local district Bayreuth of 12 August 2010 and the current Vocational College Regulation.

The following guidelines apply when choosing your subjects and lesson allocations:

¹⁾ The internship is a compulsory requirement in order to be eligible for the final practical exam. High performing students have the opportunity to take modules at a university during their second year. By that decision the internship in the 2 ^nd year is reduced to 5 weeks.
²⁾ You will take the final practical exam for two subjects: Practical Training Kitchen and Restaurant.
³⁾ You choose from the elective subjects offered by the Vocational College for Hotel Management Pegnitz according to the budget provided by the Government of Upper Franconia.
⁴⁾ You choose the subjects for the final examination! The written final exam consists of one foreign language and three further examination subjects.
⁵⁾The minimum weekly amount of teaching time for the four chosen subjects for the written exam is 10 lessons.

National and international hotel internships

^{_{Choose your own hotel internships. In the 3}rd}^{_{year we recommend to do the internship abroad in any suitable country with enterprises of high reputation in the hotel business. European and national scholarship have been and will be enabled from 2008 and until 2012 for hotel internships in European areas by the}}^{_{Programme Education and Training Leonardo da Vinci Mobility/IVT.}}
